Extremely Good News for Pending EB-3 Adjustment Cases

The March 2026 Visa Bulletin has moved forward very quickly. EB-3 cases with a Priority Date before June 22, 2022 are now eligible to file Form I-485 to adjust status from F-1 to permanent residency processing.

According to the March 2026 Visa Bulletin published by the U.S. Department of State, the EB-3 Other Workers category has advanced significantly. Currently, applicants with a Priority Date before June 22, 2022 are permitted to file Form I-485 (Adjustment of Status) if they are lawfully present in the United States.

This means that international students holding F-1 visas with an approved EB-3 petition and a Priority Date prior to June 22, 2022 are now eligible to adjust status to permanent resident within the United States by filing Form I-485 with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

When filing Form I-485, applicants may concurrently apply for:

  1. Employment Authorization Document (EAD)

  2. Advance Parole (travel authorization)

Once the EAD is approved, applicants may legally begin working in the United States while waiting for the final decision on their EB-3 green card case.

This is a significant opportunity for families whose children are currently studying in the United States and have an EB-3 case filed before June 22, 2022. Parents are encouraged to review their Priority Date as soon as possible and prepare the necessary documentation for the next stage.
